Hi, we have been raising tilapia for several years in an existing 1/2 acre pond on our farm in Florida. We only harvest fish for ourselves. They mostly fend for themselves but we want to start feeding them. What feed would you suggest that the softshell turtles won't eat?

I started growing tilapia fingerlings in October 2023. I used the 250 gallon food container using the top of the container as a 100 gallon vegetable growing bed leaving about 125 gallon fish tank. I started with 40 fingerlings. They have grown to about 6 - 8 inches. It has been very time intensive and expensive. Tilapia produce lots of waste. i added a 2nd filtration system as the beginning of December. Still, I'm doing 50 - 75 gallons of water changes every week to rid the system of ammonia. Luckily, I've only lost 1 tilapia. I'm using 3 large aquarium heaters to keep the temp at above 80 degrees. Food cost are too expensive, but the system requires 5- 20 hours every week.

Very impressive! You probably will want to supplement their food with an insect-based feed, such as black soldier fly larvae, to maximize growth and tastiness!
