What’s a Jarrarium?

In essence, a jarrarium is simply a micro-aquarium built in a small container like a jar or fish bowl. 

In practice, a jarrarium is meant to be a totally self-sustaining ecosystem (or nearly so). It should require little or no maintenance. 

There are several methods to creating a jarrarium. The simplest is to just scoop up mud, water, and plants from a pond and watch it unfold. Some people carefully sculpt a living work of art out of rocks, wood, plants, and animals.
